Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration
The Center provides a range of generally accessible and specialized social services aimed at supporting, protecting, and empowering vulnerable individuals. The services are hourly-based and funded by the state budget.
The social services team includes qualified psychologists, social workers, and a lawyer. All activities are tailored to the individual needs of the service users.
Main Areas of Work
- Support for victims of domestic and gender-based violence – psychological, legal, and social assistance, including mobile outreach units in smaller settlements
- Work with perpetrators – aimed at preventing repeated violence
- Capacity building for professionals – training for coordinated case management
- Prevention – educational programs in schools and kindergartens, youth campaigns, and work with vulnerable groups
Services Provided
Information and Counseling
- Assessment of life situation and risk
- Crisis intervention and stabilization
- Assessment of urgent needs (shelter, health, support)
- Referral to services and forms of assistance
Legal Support
- Legal consultations under the Protection Against Domestic Violence Act (PDVA)
- Advocacy and mediation
- Assistance with basic needs (housing, healthcare, education, material support)
- Legal representation under the PDVA
- Support in document preparation and access to services
- Accompaniment to institutions
Therapy and Rehabilitation
- Overcoming trauma, fear, guilt, and shame
- Development of coping skills for stress, anxiety, and aggression
- Improvement of self-esteem and social skills
- Empowerment and encouragement of independence
Community Work
- Counseling for vulnerable individuals and families at risk
- Prevention of school dropout and encouragement of education
- Prevention of violence and school bullying
- Support for developing parenting capacity

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Access to the services requires prior appointment. The Center is located in the town of Targovishte and provides outreach services through mobile offices in the towns of Popovo and Omurtag.
