Job search and employment assistance: the Caritas career centre in Sofia helps citizens of
third-world countries to gain an orientation in the job market in Bulgaria. Currently, the
following services are provided:

• Assistance in preparing CVs and cover letters
• Finance training
• Vocational training
• Entrepreneurship programme

Services for people fleeing the war in Ukraine

• Courses and summer schools for children - enrolment in experiential learning groups, work with children, support in acquiring of Bulgarian language skills; non-formal Bulgarian language activities and skills development to help them access the educational system and overcome trauma and build confidence
• Bulgarian language courses for adults - online and in person groups in Sofia, Plovdiv and Burgas at levels A1-A2 and B1
• Initial orientation and consultations, provision of information, translation and support for access to basic rights and opportunities for settlement, healthcare and education
• Support for enrolment in school and kindergarten in Bulgaria
• Referrals to: social services and benefits, psychological support, humanitarian support, legal aid, state and municipal institutions and structures, humanitarian organizations and centres for access to the labour market
• referral to job search platforms and opportunities as well as to other centres of the Caritas job search network; preparation of CVs, referral to an employer; obtaining a medical clearance for employment; necessary documents to start

Food vouchers for asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection from vulnerable groups

Caritas provides vouchers of 250 BGN to 

• Household with three or more children
• Families with a disabled child
• Households with children without parents (with guardianship document)
• Families with a severely disabled parent

The vouchers are provided following a vulnerability survey and assessment of those in need, carried out by Caritas field assistants. 

Vouchers are not currently available to persons with temporary protection!
