Bulgarian Institute of Psychomotricity
Psychomotor Therapy is a form of therapy based on a holistic view of the human being, which assumes the unity of body, mind, and spirit. It relies on interventions related to movement, the body, cognition, and emotions, as well as interventions aimed at developing the individual's competence within a psychosocial context (European Forum of Psychomotricity, EFP: https://psychomot.org/psychomotricity/).
Psychomotor Therapy is a discipline situated at the crossroads of various fields, including psychology (neuropsychology, psychoanalysis, neuroscience, etc.), somatics, movement sciences, pedagogy, neurology, and psychiatry.
The main elements that constitute the field of Psychomotricity are:
- The five senses and perception
- Movement
