Community Centre Varna

Community Centre Varna – part of the Bulgaria Network of Protection and Inclusion Centres COMPASS – was established on the initiative of the United Nations (The UN Refugee Agency – UNHCR) by Association ENERGY to support vulnerable groups, asylum seekers, and refugees, regardless of their nationality.

The activities of Community Centre COMPASS – Varna are based on existing national services and bring together the efforts of state institutions, local authorities, and civil society in a coordinated and comprehensive approach to supporting and integrating refugees, in line with the National Strategy for Migration and Asylum Management (2025–2030) of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The partner organizations providing support in the centre are ENERGY and the Foundation for Access to Rights – FAR.

Community Centre COMPASS – Varna aims to promote social cohesion and serves as a space for meetings, mutual support, and joint participation between forcibly displaced persons and members of the host community, fostering meaningful interaction, trust-building, and a sense of belonging.

The partner organizations in the Community Centre provide the following free services for socio-economic inclusion:

• Social support: Social support and counselling by social workers for refugees from vulnerable groups. Social support for children with special needs and disabilities.

• Support for access to healthcare services: Provision of information and assistance in accessing basic medical examinations and treatment for refugees from vulnerable groups.

• Provision of legal aid: Legal consultations for refugees from vulnerable groups provided by the partner Foundation for Access to Rights – FAR.

• Social activities: Organization of various social events and activities to promote integration and interaction between refugees and the local community.

The services are free of charge and are intended for vulnerable groups, asylum seekers, and refugees, regardless of their nationality.
