ENERGY Association

ENERGY (ENERGY - NRG) is a non-governmental organization working in the public interest and a social enterprise actively participating in the social economy of the city of Varna through the provision of educational support, personal development services, and as a licensed provider of key competence training and social services.

We are building an inclusive and sustainable environment by empowering individuals and ensuring access to education for every child; we promote innovation, environmental responsibility, and uphold social justice through active civic engagement, in accordance with the principles of equality, dignity, freedom, and equal opportunity.

Centers managed by ENERGY

ENERGY manages two centers:

• Community Center
• Educational Center

Community Centre Varna

The Community Centre Varna is part of the Bulgaria Network of Protection and Inclusion Centres COMPASS. It was established through the initiative of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) by the ENERGY Association in support of vulnerable groups, asylum seekers, and refugees, regardless of their nationality.

The activities of the COMPASS Community Centre – Varna are based on existing national services and bring together the efforts of state institutions, local authorities, and civil society in a coordinated and comprehensive approach to refugee support and integration, in line with the National Strategy for Migration and Asylum Management (2025–2030) of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The COMPASS Community Centre – Varna aims to promote social cohesion and serves as a meeting place for mutual support and joint participation between forcibly displaced persons and members of the host community, fostering meaningful interaction, trust-building, and a sense of belonging.

Partner organizations within the Community Centre provide the following free services for socio-economic inclusion:

• Social support: Social assistance and counseling provided by social workers for refugees from vulnerable groups. Social support for children with special needs and disabilities.

• Support in accessing healthcare services: Providing information and assistance in accessing basic medical examinations and treatment for refugees from vulnerable groups.

• Legal assistance: Legal consultations for refugees from vulnerable groups provided by the partner organization Foundation for Access to Rights – FAR.

• Social activities: Organization of various events and activities to promote integration and interaction between refugees and the local community.

ENERGY Educational Center

The Educational Center was established in 2022 to support children aged 3 to 12. It employs certified early childhood development specialists with extensive experience, including working with children with special needs, as well as teachers in Bulgarian language and mathematics.

For us, modern educational methods and the development of every child are a cause. That is why we have chosen innovative approaches through which knowledge and skills are acquired with ease, joy, and play. The center provides a supportive environment for children with special needs, both for adaptation and group work, as well as individual educational activities through play.

A variety of activities are offered at the center:

• Support for children aged 3 to 6 in early childhood development – attention, concentration, fine motor skills; social, emotional, and artistic skills, as well as early preparation in logical thinking, mathematics, and Bulgarian language for first grade.

• Homework support in Bulgarian language and mathematics in an after-school program for children aged 7 to 12.

• Preparation for the National External Assessment (NEA) in Bulgarian language and mathematics for 7th grade.

• Bulgarian and English language courses for youth and adults.

• Art therapy, creative workshops, and various interest-based club activities – Robo Adventurers Club (robotics and programming), Creative Hands Club (Makers).

The summer program also includes the “Blue Summer” club, offering daily games and a variety of educational activities.
