The Bureau was established in 2021 by the Sofia Development Association with the support of Sofia Municipality, UNHCR and the Bulgarian Red Cross. It is an information and coordination point whose aim is to consult and assist refugees and migrants in accessing sought after legal, economic, social, cultural etc. services. The office operates on a “one-stop shop” basis which is recognised as a good practice in Europe by the European Integration Page, the main source of information and exchange of ideas among practitioners and researchers in the field of integration in the EU.

The Bureau offers the following services: 

  • Accompaniment to various institutions including arranging a date for accompaniment to various institutions
  • Assistance in accessing the labour market.
  • Social services related to the filling in of documents, referral to institutions, etc.
  • Receipt of applications for targeted benefits in the Bulgarian Red Cross domain
  • Informative sessions on various topics
  • Psychological assistance: Psychological assistance is provided by Center Nadja every Monday between 12:00 and 14:00.
  • Legal assistance: Legal aid is provided by the Foundation for Access to Rights - FAR every Wednesday from 10:00 to 12:00 and by the Legal Aid Centre “Voice in Bulgaria” every Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

You can visit the Information Bureau every weekday from 10:00 to 17:30 and you do not need to make an appointment in advance. The services are free of charge.
