The mission of the Situation Center Open Doors  is to support people displaced by the war in Ukraine, aiming to cover the whole process of adaptation and integration in Bulgaria. Their goal is to be a comprehensive agency providing services for newcomers, acting as a gateway to just, respectful and welcoming communities where all members can actively participate, and contribute.
Open Doors Situation Center Foundation helps all people displaced by the war in Ukraine, regardless of nationality, race, religion, gender, age, health status or sexuality.

Educational center for children

The Ukrainian Education Center offers a full-day Ukrainian education program, for children in grades 1 through 11. Students are enrolled in a 'home-schooled' mode, but study in classrooms, with teachers from Ukraine, following the Ukrainian curriculum, and the completed education will be recognized by the M.O. in Ukraine. The teachers working at the Centre are from Ukraine.

The centre is also open for children aged 5-6 years old which attend classes half a day.

In the afternoons the children attend language courses (English, Bulgarian), art classes, music, etc. depending on the schedule of activities. 

During the summer months, the Educational Center will offer non-formal education and different educational activities for children aged 5 to 17 years old. The activities are going to take place every business day in the working hours of the Center. 

The capacity of the centre is 200 children.

Support for displaced Ukrainian children enrolled in the Bulgarian education system

Children enrolled in Bulgarian schools can receive support from the Open Doors Situation Center  for document preparation, mediation, conflict resolution, and psychological support.

Support for displaced Ukrainian children studying online in Ukrainian schools

Children enrolled in Bulgarian schools can receive support from the Open Doors Situation Center Foundation for additional tutoring as well as psychological support.

Situation Center Open Doors offers specialized psychological support/crisis counseling

Psychological support is offered in the form of individual sessions or group activities (art therapy, support circles). You can sign up for an individual session at [email protected].
